General Pragmatics in the brand name used by Paul J. Nini, Professor of Design at The Ohio State University, for mostly self-initiated projects as included here.
GenPrag projects have attracted media attention -- though the Graphic Design Heroes t-shirt series is probably best known, having received a review by well-known design writer Rick Poynor on the Eye magazine blog. An image from that review has been included on the Home page of this site.
Paul has over 30 years of experience as a visual communication designer, having created numerous corporate identification, marketing communication, environmental graphic, interactive, and information design systems for a variety of clients.
He has served as a full-time faculty member at Ohio State for over 20 years. He is a past Department Chairperson, and has also served as past Director of both the interdisciplinary graduate program and the undergraduate visual communication design program.
His academic interests concern advancing a human-centered research approach to the design process, and he has written and presented extensively on this and related subjects.
Paul is also available on a very limited basis to consult with clients. Please use the below contact information for all inquiries.
